Amazon has now officially confirmed that Amazon Prime Day will take place on July 16-17 in the US and the UK, following an accidental leak of the dates earlier this week. The company has announced that the event will kick off at 12AM PT/3AM ET on Tuesday, July 16, and conclude at the end of Wednesday, July 17.

This year, Amazon promises hundreds of thousands of deals on products from popular brands such as Sony, Samsung, Ninja, GHD, Fitbit, Oral-B, Bose, Shark, and more. It also include up to five months of free Amazon Music Unlimited, discounts on various Prime Video Channels, up to 68% off Amazon devices and three months of Kindle Unlimited for free.

As expected, Prime Day will span two full days, offering thousands of exclusive, Prime-only deals on a wide range of products, from electronics to fashion. For those eager to start shopping, some Prime Day deals are already available.

However, if you're not a member, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial below to access these early deals and be prepared for the full sale next month.

Amazon appears to have inadvertently revealed the dates for its annual Amazon Prime Day mega-sale. A Google search for Prime Day 2024 shows a snippet under the official Amazon UK link, stating that the event will be on July 16-17, exclusively for Prime Members, featuring two days of deals on top brands.

However, these details are not yet listed on the actual Prime Day 2024 page, suggesting an early update mistake. This marks the first confirmation of the dates for Prime Day 2024, which are likely to be consistent globally since Prime Day is a worldwide event.

Amazon Prime Day not only generates substantial sales in a short period but also serves as a strategy to increase Prime memberships. While it isn’t a traditional Prime perk like Prime Video or free two-day shipping, the exclusive deals available only to Prime members during the event boost subscriptions. However, it's noteworthy that the annual membership cost has risen to $139, nearly double its initial price of $79 when it launched in 2005.

Prime Day, traditionally held in July, has been Amazon's main shopping event for a decade. Recently, the company introduced a secondary "fall Prime Day" in October, likely to kick off the holiday shopping season. Although it's unclear if this October event will return in 2024, the trend of earlier holiday sales suggests it might.
